Ford EVEREST

• A 2.0-liter turbo diesel produces 170 hp and 405 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed automatic. It is the quieter, more fuel-efficient option 
• The 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder delivers 296 hp and 420 Nm of torque and is paired with a 10-speed automatic.
• The 10-speed gearbox on the petrol variants works smoothly and rarely hunts for ratios under load. The diesel's 6-speed is more deliberate but suited to its character.
• The Terrain Management System offers Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Sand, Mud/Ruts, and Rock Crawl modes.
• With 800 mm of wading depth and 3,500 kg of towing capacity, Everest takes Saudi terrain seriously. It is not a Toyota Land Cruiser 70-series, and it does not pretend to be.

Things to Watch Out 

• The diesel XLS is more fuel-efficient in real Saudi driving conditions, with AC on full, city traffic in Jeddah or Riyadh, and highway speeds above 120 kph. 
• The petrol EcoBoost is noticeably more responsive at highway speeds. Overtaking feels more relaxed, and the 10-speed transmission is a real upgrade over the diesel's 6-speed in everyday driving feel.
• At close to 4.9 meters long and nearly 1.9 meters tall, the Everest drives like the big car it is. The steering is reasonably light, and parking cameras help, but the footprint is always there.

• On Saudi highways at 120 to 140 kph, the Everest is composed and quieter than many buyers expect. Wind noise is well managed, and the suspension absorbs the rough parts of long expressways smoothly. The journey from Riyadh to Madinah or Jeddah to Taif is purely comfortable; long-distance driving is where this car earns its reputation.
• The 360-degree camera helps considerably in urban environments, and the steering is light enough for daily city use.

Things That Matter More

• You may notice body roll in corners; the suspension is tuned for load-carrying and off-road composure, not handling precision, and it makes no apology for that. If you are coming from a modern crossover, you will feel the difference in the first week.
• Broken roads and large speed bumps transmit more impact into the cabin than a unibody SUV would allow, and rear passengers feel it more than those up front. 
• On the better-maintained roads across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam, this is rarely a problem. On secondary roads outside the major cities, it is worth knowing before the family takes the back seats.

• A 12-inch SYNC 4 portrait touchscreen handles navigation, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and vehicle settings without the lag that Ford's older infotainment systems were criticized for. All variants share an 8-inch LCD instrument cluster, functional and clear in Saudi sunlight, though not the large digital display some buyers might expect at this price.
• A glove box cooler, a small detail but an obvious one for the Saudi climate, comes standard across all trims.
• The second row has true legroom; adults can sit comfortably without their knees pressing against the seats ahead. The third row fits adults for shorter trips; a power-fold feature makes access quick when loading in a hurry. Overhead vents reach all three rows, which makes a noticeable difference on full-car trips from Dammam to Riyadh.
• Boot space with all seats up is limited, enough for soft bags, but opens up usefully once the third row is folded.
• An 8-way powered driver and passenger seat, a Bang and Olufsen 12-speaker system, ambient lighting, a dual-panel sunroof, and a cargo management system. After a few hours on the road, you notice all of them.

What's Missing

• Apple CarPlay is wired across all trims; at a starting price above SAR 142,900 in 2025, wireless connectivity should not feel like an upgrade request. It is a gap for buyers who expect it, and Ford needs to address it.
• The plastics feel ordinary around the center console and lower door panels. Buyers will notice that Korean competitors in the same segment offer noticeably better-finished interiors at similar prices during a proper test drive.
• The 10-inch touchscreen feels modest compared to rivals' higher-spec screens.

What's Included

• All variants come with 7 airbags, ABS, electronic stability control, roll stability control, hill start assist, a locking differential, reverse parking sensors, and a rearview camera. 
• From the XLT upward, front parking sensors, the Rotary Terrain Management System with off-road screens, and wireless charging are added. These are meaningful real-world upgrades for buyers who regularly use the car both on and off the main road.
• The Limited is where the full active safety suite lives, including Driver Alert System, Collision Mitigation with Post-collision Impact Braking, Blind Spot Information System with Trailer Tow, Reverse Brake Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop - Go, Lane Keeping Aid, Auto High Beam, a 360-degree camera, Zone Lighting, and Pro-Trailer Backup Assist. Every one of these features is exclusive to the Limited trim.

Things to Consider

• The XLS and XLT both lack active collision mitigation, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise, lane keeping, and the 360-degree camera. These are not minor omissions. For families doing regular highway drives with children, the honest recommendation is the Limited if active safety is the priority
• Ford's service network in Saudi Arabia runs through Al Jazirah Vehicles and Naghi Ford, covering Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, Taif, and other key centers. The network is not as wide as Toyota's; this is a fact you must keep in mind. 
• Buyers in smaller cities or areas away from the main centers should check parts availability and service proximity before purchasing.
