There are no Chinese luxury full-size SUVs in this segment yet in Saudi Arabia. Some Chinese brands have arrived in lower segments, but at this level, the Escalade and QX80 are still competing among American and Japanese names. Both models are available through local dealers under Murabaha or Ijara financing arrangements. Monthly Aqsat on either car will be somewhere around SAR 7,100 to 7,500, depending on your down payment and the financing structure your bank offers. Some dealers also offer Tawarruq-based financing for buyers who prefer that structure.

Size and Stance

As you already know by now, both are full-size body-on-frame SUVs, so they are not small. You can park them comfortably in any mall parking garage in Riyadh, but on narrow streets, that's a different story.

As visible in the table, the Escalade is wider and taller, while the QX80 is actually longer. The wheelbase is nearly identical, and in terms of cargo, the Escalade wins clearly. If you regularly travel from Riyadh to Abha and pack for seven people, that matters.

Look and Feel

Let's look at how they appear in real life. If you walk around both SUVs, you understand immediately that they have different personalities.

The Escalade is square, bold, and American in style and feel. It has sharp vertical edges, a large chrome grille, and a body style that has not changed dramatically in years, which is a great thing; that is precisely what makes it a classic. Although the new model has a more refined front end and elegant LED lighting, it still looks like a statement. It wants you to know it is there.

The QX80 has completely changed its design. The 2026 model looks almost nothing like the old one. It has:

In terms of comparison, it is fair to say the Escalade still wins on the road, but the QX80 is more interesting to look at up close.

Inside the Cabin

Here is where the real magic or fun begins. As one might expect looking at the prices, both interiors are definitely premium and luxurious, but they create very different moods.

The Escalade interior is digital and electrifying. The curved OLED screen stretching across the dashboard is one of the most impressive dashboard setups in any car right now. It wraps in a curve from the instrument cluster to the infotainment to the passenger-side screen and undoubtedly feels futuristic without trying too hard.

The QX80 cabin seems quieter and more refined in a traditional luxury sense. The materials are carefully chosen. The available semi-aniline leather seats, the hand-stretched leather-wrapped dashboard, and the open-pore ash wood trim with metal inlay all feel like someone spent real time on the details.

What you should definitely know is the Klipsch audio in the QX80. The Individual Audio feature lets the driver take a phone call through headrest speakers while passengers continue listening to music. That is a very thoughtful feature for a car often used with a full family on board.

The QX80's Google Built-In integration is excellent, as you log in with your Google account and access Google Maps, Google Assistant, and the Play Store natively in the car. This is not just CarPlay mirroring, but it is Google running inside the car's operating system. The Escalade's screen is bigger and more visually impressive. But screens do not make a car easier to live with by themselves.

The Escalade gets the familiar and highly capable V8. It is known as smooth and effortless and has a low, authoritative sound. It does not feel like it is working hard at any given time. For long highway drives from Riyadh to Taif or Jeddah to Makkah, that effortless power is pleasant.

The QX80 uses a twin-turbo V6 and actually produces more power and more torque than the V8 Escalade. It accelerates with more urgency. On paper, the smaller engine wins. In the real world, some drivers still prefer the natural breathing of a large V8. This is a personal preference.

Both use four-wheel drive systems, but the QX80's All-Mode 4WD is more sophisticated for varied terrain, which matters for Saudi buyers who occasionally venture off-road toward the Empty Quarter or the northern deserts. The Escalade's Magnetic Ride Control is excellent on smooth highways, adjusting damping in milliseconds. The QX80's electronic air suspension can lower the car when parked to make loading and exiting easier, which is a practical feature for families.

Nothing is missing, and at this price point, you expect and get almost everything to protect you and your loved ones.
