Haval H6 vs Rivals: Who Leads the Compact SUV Race in Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia: The compact SUV segment in Saudi Arabia is fiercely competitive. The Haval H6 HEV enters priced at SAR 125,338, landing it straight into battle with established heavyweights. Its key rivals are the Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, priced between SAR 123,970 and 151,800; the Hyundai Tucson, priced at SAR 109,985-135,285, along with the Kia Sportage, priced at SAR 95,680-149,195; and the Nissan X-Trail, priced at SAR 104,500+. Leading the charge in the segment for a long time in the Saudi market, fairly well-established. 

How Does the H6 Fare?

Right at the start, it is visible that the torque numbers favour the H6 HEV at 530 Nm; the RAV4 Hybrid manages only 225 Nm despite 219 hp output. The Tucson's 1.6T hits 264 Nm. The Sportage matches that; the X-Trail produces 233 Nm. On paper, Haval dominates the pulling power. But numbers don't capture the whole picture. Toyota's name alone sells with a decades-old proven hybrid system with global refinement and high value in the resale market. 

Hyundai and Kia bring different strengths, such as five-year warranties versus Haval's unstated coverage. Also, the dealer networks span every major city. Known service costs are between SAR 700 and 1,000 per visit. The H6 HEV's hybrid service pricing is unknown until you need it.

The Sportage starts at SAR 95,680, undercutting the H6 HEV by nearly SAR 30,000. That difference pays for a lot of fuel, and the Tucson offers multiple powertrains. Choices matter. The H6 HEV gives one option: hybrid or nothing.

Features 

When it comes to features, it favours the H6 HEV on paper, like auto parking, a 360 camera, adaptive cruise, wireless charging, a panoramic roof, and ventilated seats. But the RAV4 Hybrid includes comprehensive Toyota Safety Sense. The Tucson adds blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert. 

If pure features per riyal mattered most, the H6 HEV would win. But Saudi buyers weigh total ownership economics (resale, service, warranty), and based on these key metrics, the established brands keep commanding advantages over the new Chinese brand.
