Beijing Auto Show 2026: VW Unveils AI-Driven AURA T6 and New Jetta X EV Sub-Brand with Other Major Announcements

Saudi Arabia: Volkswagen Group has made a bold statement at Auto China 2026 in Beijing with the debut of ID. UNYX 09, AURA T6, and JETTA X as Part of Major EV Reveal. The group unveiled four world premieres and showcased around 10 new vehicles, showing the brand's focus on smart, electrified mobility solutions. It could result in faster, tech-forward, and more diverse EV launches from VW via aligning with Saudi Vision 2030’s green mobility goals. 

Further, VW is planning the launch of 20 new electrified vehicles in China in 2026 alone and taking it to 50 models by 2030 with a focus on battery electric vehicles (BEVs), plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and advanced intelligent technologies. The other key highlight of the event was the Agentic AI roadmap that could be a game-changer for the Saudi Arabian buyers via tailored Arabic-language support, and the integration of AI-native operating systems and a more personalized experience. 

Volkswagen Spotlight Models at the Beijing Auto Show 2026

Volkswagen presented the following four models, along with other showcases, at the Beijing Auto Show 2026: 

Volkswagen ID. UNYX 09

Volkswagen has developed this 5-meter-long electric sedan model within just 24 months based on the China Electronic Architecture (CEA). It is powered by the state-of-the-art intelligent technologies, including advanced L2 driving assistance, high-performance computing, and an intuitive AI assistant

Volkswagen ID. AURA T6

The Volkswagen ID. AURA T6 is the first model in the all-new ID. AURA series. Developed on the China Electronic Architecture (CEA) it comes with advanced technology like the:

• Advanced L2-assisted driving
• Continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates

It is most likely to feature a spacious, tech-loaded cabin designed for modern families, perfect for the Saudi Arabian Family buyers. These features, such as luxury and family practicality, are in demand in the KSA among family buyers. 

JETTA X

The JETTA X is also revealed at the Beijing auto show 2026. It is an entry-level electric car concept targeting smart entry-level buyers. It could be a good option for Sadu Arabian corporate fleets, Government sustainability programs, and Mobility startups. Additionally, JEETA is also planning to roll out four NEV models by 2028. 

Audi E7X

Although the  Audi E7X comes under the Audi umbrella, it does give a glimpse into the future and Volkswagen Group’s broader premium EV roadmap. This powerful electric SUV offers 500 kW system output and quattro all-wheel drive paired with spacious, intelligent interiors. 

Agentic AI: The Future of Smart Driving

Volkswagen has also revealed the Agentic AI roadmap, establishing itself as “Global Automotive Tech Driver.” Agentic AI can proactively understand user intent, execute complex, multi-system actions, and make contextual decisions. 

What Does This Mean for the Saudi Arabian Market?

Volkswagen's launch of the AI-driven AURA T6, Jetta X EV sub-brand, and Agentic AI at the China Auto Show showcases the tech-forward electric vehicles (NEVs) with the need for affordable electric cars. It would make the advanced, AI-integrated EVs that align with Vision 2030’s sustainability goals more accessible to Saudi buyers.
