Genesis GV 60

• With the latest 2026 update, Genesis is bringing an 84 kWh battery, replacing the previous smaller 77.4 kWh unit, and boosting range up to 481 km (RWD) or approximately 405 km (AWD Performance). You can choose between base RWD with 225 hp/350 Nm, AWD with 314 hp/605 Nm, and Performance AWD with 429 hp/700 Nm plus Boost Mode reaching 483 hp for 10 seconds.
• The 0-100 km/h takes 5.5 seconds (RWD), 5.1 seconds (AWD), or 3.7 seconds (Performance with Boost).
• Being a modern EV, the 800-volt architecture allows ultra-fast DC charging, meaning practically 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes with a 350 kW charger, bolstering a 300 km range. This is huge for any serious buyers looking for capabilities. The standard Level 2 AC charging takes approximately 7 hours to complete. Importantly, battery conditioning automatically enhances temperature before reaching charging stations when set as your destination.
• There are five different drive modes, including Snow, Eco, Normal, Sport, and Terrain; choose any one based on the terrain you’re on. The higher variants are offered with electronically controlled suspension with Road Preview, using forward cameras to detect potholes and adjust damping in real time.
• Another intriguing aspect of the GV60 is the vehicle-to-load bidirectional charging. This makes the SUV a mobile power source, something you can use for camping equipment, other EVs, or home backup during outages.

Some limitations: 

• Compared with the Tesla Model Y’s longer claimed range, the GV60’s range is lower. While 300+ km daily driving is manageable, some owners may need to plan charging more carefully.
• Base trims lack adaptive dampers, and Road Preview suspension is limited to higher variants.
• Efficiency may drop by 20–30% in extreme cold conditions, despite pre-conditioning.

• The quality of driving and ease of handling comes from the first impression of precise and light steering. It certainly boosts your confidence with an accurate and comfort-focused mission. The electronic stability systems work perfectly without any intrusive interventions.
• Adaptive cruise control and lane centering are combined to provide highway driving assistance. It retains a safe distance while keeping you centered in your lane. Hands-on detection often uses capacitive sensors, which let you simply rest your hands on the wheel.
• What you will find convenient is the Remote Smart Parking Assist 2, which can park itself remotely using your key fob. And the 360-degree surround-view monitor makes parking super cool.
• Being an EV means the low center of gravity from the floor-mounted battery gives you confidence in handling the SUV. Genesis’s engineers have managed the body control remarkably well through corners with minimal roll. Hence, it's not a surprise that the GV60 feels planted and secure.
• On highways, the suspension absorbs road imperfections quite well without you feeling anything inside the cabin. You will find the cabin a lot silent and quiet most of the time, and this is due to the active noise cancellation and acoustic laminated glass keeping wind and road noise minimal. What we like the most is the long-distance comfort, and most Saudi owners will find it genuinely impressive.
• Another aspect of being an EV is the regenerative braking system converts kinetic energy back to electrical energy when slowing or stopping. The multiple levels of regen allow you to choose between one-pedal driving or traditional coasting.

Things to Watch Out For:

• There is progressiveness, but you will notice the transition between regenerative and mechanical braking is not always seamless. Also, the brake pedal feel lacks progressiveness. It works effectively but doesn't feel natural, and it's quite minor as an issue. 
• Body roll exists during aggressive cornering, simply because the GV60 is not your track-ready SUV. But you can expect outstanding comfort and maybe class-leading handling. 
• You will notice that the ride feels firm over sharp bumps on base models; this is because they don’t come with adaptive suspension. While on the higher trims, electronically controlled damping smooths things out significantly.

• You will notice immediately after getting inside the elegant Crystal Sphere, right at the console, a big laser-engraved, illuminated feature. It rotates 180 degrees at startup to reveal the shift dial, indicates battery status during charging with ambient lighting, and provides haptic feedback in reverse.
• Genesis has added an all-new massive but extravagant 27-inch curved OLED display in the 2026 updates. This essentially merges the instrument cluster and infotainment together quite well. The operational experience and handling are highly responsive, crisp, and intuitive with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Higher trims get Nappa leather seats with heating, ventilation, and Ergo Motion massage up front. There are these slim-profile seats, which increase rear legroom, and heated rear seats with power recline give you first-class comfort, something most owners will highly appreciate. 
• Bang & Olufsen's 17-speaker systems are known for their excellent audio quality, taking your entertainment to the next level. The active noise cancellation produces inverted sound waves, countering road noise with dedicated signals per seat.
• Another notable aspect is the Digital Key 2, which uses your smartphone or smartwatch as the key. Fingerprint authentication allows keyless starting while loading personalized settings. There is facial recognition, which puts up another layer of protection. 
• Wireless chargers are located below the center armrest, and four USB ports keep everyone connected. Vision Roof with power sunshade features electrochromic tinting you control electronically.
• Ambient lighting offers multiple colors that integrate subtly with the cabin atmosphere. As far as the boot is concerned, there is about 432 liters (second row up), expanding to 1,460 liters (seats folded), plus a small front trunk.

Some compromises:

• Rear-seat legroom is tighter than expected, and the sloping roofline reduces headroom for taller passengers. It is comfortable but less spacious than rivals like the Tesla Model Y.
• The massive screen replaces many physical buttons, which may not appeal to drivers who prefer traditional climate and audio controls.

• The 10 airbags covering driver, passenger, side, curtain, and knee positions should immediately increase your confidence in the SUV. Not just that, but the high-tensile steel safety cage takes care of any severe impact effectively.
• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 is an advanced feature that looks for vehicles, motorcyclists, pedestrians, and cyclists. It analyzes collisions at intersections and during lane changes and alerts the driver. The latest updates have added evasive steering capability, boosting safety.
• Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, like the name suggests, helps with blind spots whenever the car enters and sends visual and audio warnings. The Blind-Spot View Monitor shows you live video in the instrument cluster whenever a lane change occurs. 
• Another key safety tool is Safe Exit Assist, which prevents the door from opening if it detects approaching vehicles. The Electronic Child Safety Lock is always active if passengers press the button when danger exists.
• Lane Keeping Assist and the upgraded Lane Following Assist 2, with the help of the front camera, check lane departures. 
• For your rear parking safety, Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist alerts you if there is any vehicle coming while you are reversing and even brakes automatically if the collision risk is high.
• Driver Attention Warning It focuses on steering patterns and issues alerts if drowsiness or inattention is detected, which are common occurrences, and the system encourages breaks during long drives.

What to Note:

The electric SUV is offered with key advanced features like Highway Driving Assist 2, Bang & Olufsen audio, and larger wheels, but they are only available on higher trims, so you need to check that at the dealership.
