Genesis G80

• The base 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-4 produces 304 hp and 422 Nm of torque. It is good for city driving and offering effortless, smooth, linear acceleration. For buyers wanting more authority, the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 delivers 375 hp and 530 Nm, pushing 0-100 km/h in 5.1 seconds, which is a proper sports sedan territory while maintaining luxury composure.
• Both engines have the same 8-speed automatic that's smooth and intelligent. What it does is anticipate your driving style and adapt shift points accordingly, making your life a lot easier, especially during a tiring day of work. Likewise, Sport mode holds gears longer, and Eco ensures efficiency without sluggishness. The transmission operates nearly invisibly in normal conditions, which is a great sign. 
• The G80 is offered with standard rear-wheel drive, with an optional all-wheel drive system. On wet roads, the AWD improves traction dramatically with rapid acceleration. The weight distribution appears to be done in such a way that you feel the car is a lot more balanced, and the chassis stays composed even when pushed.
• The multiple driving modes help by adjusting throttle response and suspension damping. The adaptive suspension automatically adjusts to road conditions, which helps keep the G80 stable. Interestingly, the body roll is minimal, and electronic stability systems work seamlessly.

Watch Out For: 

• You may get a feeling that the 2.5L engine is smooth but lacks the V6's effortless surge and quick acceleration. 
• Your choice of powertrain should depend on your usage; if you frequently travel with passengers and need to overtake, it is advisable to choose the V6, even if it comes at a higher cost. 
• The dynamics intentionally favor comfort over sportiness; this is a design choice, not a compromise.

• The adaptive suspension does a fantastic job of absorbing highway bumps and rough patches without any impact in the cabin.  The G80 tracks straight with minimal corrections, and crosswinds cause little effect, though some buffeting occurs on exposed stretches.
• Highway Driving Assist II keeps lane centering and safe following distance. Above 60 km/h, it actively assists with lane changes when you signal. The machine learning technology is trained to adapt to your driving style, feeling less robotic over time.
• The navigation-based smart cruise control automatically slows for curves, toll booths, or speed zones using GPS data, then returns to the preset speed, reducing driver fatigue on intercity trips.
• Despite its 4,995 mm length, you will find the G80 easy to manage on city roads, and you don’t need to worry about crowds or congested traffic snarls. Also, despite being a sedan, the high seating gives superb visibility; additionally, you get help from the 360-degree camera and audible sensors during parking.

Watch Out For: 

• The G80's length makes tight U-turns challenging on narrow streets, something that comes with the car size.  
• You need to be careful at speed bumps; particularly tall ones may cause the front air dam to bottom out if you are not cautious. 
• The V6 AWD variant weighs approximately 1,905 kg, so acceleration from standstill is progressive rather than explosive. 
• You will notice aggressive cornering in body roll; this sedan focuses more on great comfort than speed canyon carving. Keep that in mind.

• The 27-inch integrated OLED display that spans the dashboard has to be the main attraction of the cockpit, which now comes with Genesis’s entire portfolio. It splits into a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch touchscreen. Without a doubt you would see the OLED technology offer perfect blacks and vibrant colors. It handles all of your navigation, media, and climate controls; the use is just fantastic, intuitive, and responsive.
• Genesis offers up to 14 color combinations for Nappa leather upholstery, and the quality quite literally matches that of BMW or Mercedes-Benz. Open-pore wood trim, satin silver finishes, and ambient lighting complete the opulence vibes. The Sport variant gets a D-cut steering wheel with carbon fiber and diamond-pattern leather seats.
• The front seats get power adjustment with memory, heating, ventilation, and massage. Second-generation Ergo Motion seats reduce fatigue on long drives. Rear passengers enjoy 968 mm of legroom, and the flat floor allows three adults to sit comfortably. Optional VIP rear seats include power adjustment, heating, and ventilation, and the four-zone climate control means everyone feels super luxurious and comfortable.
• The Lexicon Premium Audio System is your entertainment hub; the audio is great through concert hall acoustics with 17 speakers with precise sound staging. The acoustic front windshield reduces external noise, creating a serene environment.
• Apple CarPlay and Android Auto work wirelessly. The 50W wireless charging pad keeps phones topped up. Voice control understands English and Arabic commands for navigation, climate, and media. Genesis Connected Services adds remote start, vehicle monitoring, and emergency assistance. The 12-inch head-up display projects speed, navigation, and safety alerts into your line of sight.
• Boot space is 424 liters, which is not the highest in the segment, but most owners won’t complain. It takes care of daily or occasional road trip needs. Rear seats fold 60:40 for longer items. The electric boot opens hands-free. Fifteen exterior colors are available, from conservative metallics to bold Blazing Red and Tasman Blue.

The advanced driver assistance systems are modern and highly useful. 

• Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist includes Evasive Steering Assist and Junction Crossing detection.
• Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist is paired with the Blind-Spot View Monitor.
• Lane Keeping Assist and Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist enhance safety in urban driving.
• Safe Exit Assist prevents doors from opening when vehicles or cyclists approach from behind.
• Additional features include Driver Attention Warning, a Surround View Monitor, parking collision avoidance, rear LED guide lamps, an electronic parking brake with Auto Hold, and Hill Start Assist.

Things to Consider: 

• GCC crash test ratings are pending for the G80, but the G80 achieved Top Safety Pick+ in the US. 
• The Middle East testing is yet to be published. 
• ADAS performance in extreme heat hasn't been extensively documented.
• Service network coverage varies; major cities have facilities, but smaller cities may require traveling. 
• Long-term reliability data is limited since Genesis is relatively young in the region.
