Mazda CX-30

• The 2.0-liter SKYACTIV-G produces 155 hp and 200 Nm through a 6-speed automatic. These may sound like modest numbers for the class, because it is small; however, it does instead make the most of what it has.
• It's not hard to feel alert and matched in city traffic suitable for its size. Positively, the engine responds well. The gearbox finds the right gear without hesitation, and moving through intersections on King Fahd Road in Riyadh or the streets off Tahlia in Jeddah takes no effort. Light, accurate, and genuinely easy on the driver.
• AWD on both high variants gives real confidence on gravel roads if you are driving through Taif and on the loose surfaces of mountain routes toward Abha. 
• You see, the sport mode changes the car's persona quite significantly. Especially on mountain passes outside the city, it sharpens the CX-30 into something you look forward to driving rather than simply completing. Most owners love this aspect of this car. 
• You can conservatively expect real-life mileage of around 12 to 14 km per liter in mixed use. For a daily commuter in Riyadh doing 60 to 80 km, the monthly fuel bill should not be a bigger deal.

Some Realities

• Cruise above triple digits, and you get that feel of being stretched. So if you are someone who spends regular time on Saudi expressways, you will encounter this limitation.
• Mostly the AWD is fun, and if you go through Murabaha, the price may be a little too high for some budgets. So better know the real budget before selecting the right variant.
• Also keep in mind that Mazda is not offering multiple engines, where turbo or hybrid is a choice. You have limited options, or rather, just one powertrain. 

• The cabin is quiet for the most part, which is a good thing for most owners. The road and wind noise suppression is excellent. This is more visible when you are on the highway between Jeddah and Makkah; the cabin stays quieter than competing crossovers at the same speed, and that gap grows on longer drives.
• Your driving fun is determined by the steering, and here you get one that is precise and well-weighted, which is rare in this class. For example, when on interchange ramps around Riyadh and the mountain curves above Taif, the car responds directly and keeps the driver involved without asking for effort.
• When it comes to your daily office commute or, in general, city driving, you feel the suspension is tuned perfectly to handle any road contour that is thrown at the car. You also experience a capable vehicle that can handle speed bumps in residential Dammam and older Jeddah districts without sharp intrusion.

Things That Matter More

• The 175 mm of ground clearance may feel a little lower. So on certain types of terrain, like gravel tracks near Asir or at desert camping sites, you need to be careful.
• On the base variant you don’t get adaptive cruise. That means regular intercity drivers who want following‑distance assistance need to move up the Raita ladder to get it. Keep that in mind for your cost escalation.
• Overall you get a sense of a firm ride, and if you are upgrading from a softer sedan, you should feel the difference in less than a week.

• At the base, you get standard features such as leather seats, a sunroof, dual‑zone automatic climate control, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push‑button start, a rear camera, cruise control, rear parking sensors, and 18‑inch alloys. What this tells us is that there is more standard content than most rivals offer at their mid‑trim.
• Move up and you get additional paddle shifters, a 10‑inch display with navigation, a Bose 8‑speaker system, the Active Driving Display on the windshield, auto‑dimming mirrors, lane departure warning, and driver attention alert.
• The top‑end upgrades include an 11‑speaker Bose system and Nappa leather with contrasting black sections. See it in person before deciding; it is the kind of interior that divides opinion equally. So, what is your test to determine your own approach to selection?
• One thing is quite obvious: the material quality is the CX‑30’s most consistent strength. Touch any surface and you feel it has been chosen with intention. Compare this cabin with a Korean or Chinese rival at the same price, and the gap in interior feel is immediate.
• Interestingly, all trims get rear‑seat air vents, which is positive.

What is Missing

• Due to the double roofline, you feel squeezed when it comes to rear headroom. So you need to check on that if you regularly carry adults in the back seat.
• Again, the boot space at 430 liters is fine for daily use but requires planning if, let’s say, you are going for a full family trip to Abha. There is no version of this car that fixes that.
• The base variant gets only a modest 8.8‑inch screen that is functional but dated next to current rivals.

• There is no automatic emergency braking (AEB) on any Saudi CX‑30 trim. So check the competition, and frankly at this price, with rivals including pedestrian detection as standard, this is the most significant gap in the safety package.
• There is no Gulf-specification crash-test data for the CX‑30 either.
• Resale is good partly due to factors like Mazda’s reliability reputation and Alireza’s decades-long presence, which support exit values more stable than those of newer brands.
• A Murabaha exit after three to four years is likely to be better if you compare it with a Chinese one, but not on the level of a Corolla Cross, which is rather obvious.
