Does the MG ZS Look and Feel Like a Car Worth the Money in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia: As far as the exterior goes, take a look at any profile; it's hard not to feel it looks distinctive and premium too. From the inside, though, it depends on the trim, but the LUX version certainly seems to be offering way more than its sticker price. MG has redesigned the ZS, keeping in mind to make it look sharper, feel more spacious, and carry an air of premium that most buyers in this segment are not used to seeing at under SAR 85,000 in the market. 

The exterior 

The front end is what stands out first; it convinces you that it is modern but certainly not flashy. The front is what MG calls a Hunter-Eye headlight design, and it works. The dual-layer front face integrates the full LED headlights into a wide, prominent grille that gives the car a planted, road-presence look. This is not a timid design, but it is proportioned confidently, and the forward-leaning beltline gives the car a sense of motion even when parked.

The 18-inch alloy wheels on the LUX trim fill the arches perfectly for a sporty stance. The panoramic roof, available on the LUX, visually opens up the roofline and makes it elegant from the outside. Similarly, the attractive LED taillights and a clean rear spoiler round off a design that feels well integrated and purposeful, not just assembled from a parts list.

The MG ZS is available in seven colors, including Arctic White, Black Pearl, Monument Silver, Hampstead Grey, Fusion Red Pearl, Battery Blue Metallic, and a vibrant green. For Saudi buyers, Arctic White and Black Pearl remain the most popular choices, but the Blue and Red options are becoming increasingly common among younger drivers.

Interior

If one has to summarize the inside, then it certainly is spacious, higher quality, and thoughtfully designed. The cabin feels larger than the exterior suggests, which is a great positive of the car. The dual 12.3-inch screens dominate the dashboard in the best way, giving the interior a truly modern look. The jet-wing-style center console feels premium to the touch and houses the gear shifter cleanly.

The leather seats come standard on all trims of the ZS, which is honestly surprising at this price. Likewise, the panoramic sunroof on the LUX is not just decorative. In the kingdom with long evenings and cooler nights between October and March, it is something owners definitely use. The rear AC vents are welcome too, especially for families with children in the back.

The 60:40 split folding rear seats open up useful boot space for weekend trips or grocery runs from Tamimi or Danube. One practical and functional aspect is the storage spaces, which are throughout the cabin, with decent-sized door pockets, a front center armrest with storage, and properly sized cupholders.

But many buyers will find that the interior on the base trim is certainly not impressive, as it feels less refined with harder plastics visible in places. The step up to the COM or LUX trim makes a meaningful difference inside.

Conclusion 

Quite clearly, the ZS has the look of a car that costs more than it does, which is rather a rare accomplishment. The exterior design is sharp and modern, the interior on higher trims is comfortable and well-equipped, and the dimensions make it perfectly practical for Saudi family use. It is not perfect throughout, and the base trim shows its budget roots, but the mid-to-top variants deliver a cabin and a silhouette that stand up well against anything in the SAR 70,000 to SAR 85,000 range.
