Does the Changan Eado Plus Offer Good Value for Its Price in Saudi Arabia?

Saudi Arabia: Like most Chinese brands, the Changan Eado Plus is a sedan that scores high when it comes to the exterior design and overall road presence. All Eado Plus trims retain the distinctive style of brands from China that appear to have obtained superior design abilities in offering a desirable look and feel to cars that often seem more premium than they actually cost. The Eado Plus looks just as sharp on a Saudi road as it does in a showroom; it has a truly sharp exterior that does not look budget at all. Similarly, the story inside is the same, with a tech-forward focus and well-laid-out design, though the materials do betray the price if you look closely. For what you pay, the balance is fair, and the cabin feels fresh rather than plain.

Attractive Exterior 

Being a compact sedan, the Eado Plus is 4,770 mm long, 1,840 mm wide, and 1,440 mm tall on a 2,765 mm wheelbase; this underlines that it is not a small car but a reasonably well-sized one. True to its segment of compact sedan territory with a low roofline that gives it a sleek fastback look.

What stands out on the exterior:

• Flush, recessed door handles that give a clean, modern look
• A carbon fibre-style rear spoiler with an integrated LED brake lamp on Smart and Limited
• 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/45 R18 tyres, a large fitment for this segment
• Chrome window trim running along the side glass

• Available in White, Grey, Silver, Green, and Red

The green and red are interesting choices for Saudi buyers who want something less common on Riyadh's and Jeddah's streets.

Premium Inside 

The 13.2-inch touchscreen dominates the cockpit, angled towards the driver, with a clean and subtle layout around it. The instrument cluster is a 10.25-inch TFT digital display on Trend and Smart. The Limited gets a full digital cluster.

Space and Practicality

Like a typical five-seat layout, but the legroom at the front is decent, and there is acceptable rear space for average-height adults. The middle rear seat is narrow, better suited for a child or a bag on long trips. The rear seats fold down to accommodate larger luggage. Storage is well thought out with a wide center console, deep door pockets, front and rear cup holders, and a useful glovebox.

However, if you take a closer look, the budget aspect of the car starts to be visible. For example, hard plastic in the lower door panels and around the center console. Importantly, nothing creaks, and everything fits tightly, but if you run your hand along the lower surfaces, you notice the cost savings. It is not a deal-breaker, but it is something buyers should know.

There is no doubt that the Eado Plus looks like a more expensive car with loaded features than it is from the outside, and the inside impresses with its tech layout. The finish quality is functional and durable rather than premium, and at SAR 67,000 to SAR 81,000, that is reasonable to expect, and Changan has done a superb job with the design and the sedan’s imposing road presence.
